About Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough grew with astonishing speed in the 19th century from a tiny hamlet into a great iron and steel town — its steel was exported worldwide and helped build the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Its most famous landmark is the Transporter Bridge over the River Tees, a rare working example of its kind. A university town on Teesside, Middlesbrough has an affordable rental market and good access to the North York Moors and the coast.
