About Durham

Durham is a small but spectacular cathedral city, its Norman cathedral and castle standing together on a wooded peninsula in a loop of the River Wear as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cathedral, one of the greatest Romanesque buildings in Europe, holds the shrine of St Cuthbert and has featured as a Harry Potter filming location. Home to one of England's oldest universities, Durham has a very active student rental market alongside its historic charm.
