Open Homes workspaceAbout Tunbridge Wells
Royal Tunbridge Wells grew as a fashionable Georgian spa town after the discovery of iron-rich chalybeate springs in 1606, drawing royalty and high society who took the waters at the elegant colonnaded walkway known as the Pantiles. It gained the 'Royal' prefix by royal charter — one of only a few English towns to hold it. Surrounded by the wooded High Weald on the Kent–Sussex border, Tunbridge Wells is an affluent commuter town with a strong rental market and fast trains to London.
