Open Homes workspaceAbout Inverness
Inverness sits at the mouth of the River Ness where it meets the Moray Firth, and has long been regarded as the capital of the Scottish Highlands. Its red-sandstone castle overlooks the river, and the nearby Culloden battlefield witnessed the last pitched battle on British soil in 1746. The Caledonian Canal and famous Loch Ness lie close by. One of the fastest-growing cities in Scotland, Inverness serves as the commercial and administrative hub for a vast rural region, giving it a distinctive rental market driven by tourism, public services and relocation.
