About Crowthorne

Crowthorne is a Berkshire village that grew significantly in the 19th century around two major institutions: Wellington College, opened in 1859 as a national memorial to the Duke of Wellington, and Broadmoor Hospital, opened in 1863. Its railway station and surrounding woodland helped the village develop into a leafy residential community between Bracknell, Wokingham and Sandhurst. Today Crowthorne is valued for its schools, village centre and access to heathland and forests, giving it a family-focused rental market.
