About Corby

Corby is a Northamptonshire town transformed by steel. Once a village, it expanded rapidly in the 1930s when Stewarts & Lloyds built a major integrated steelworks, attracting many workers from Scotland and creating Corby’s distinctive Scottish connections. After steelmaking declined, the town reinvented itself through manufacturing, logistics and new housing. Corby’s railway reopening in 2009 improved links to London, and its relatively affordable homes support an active rental market.
