About Canary Wharf

Canary Wharf stands on the Isle of Dogs, once part of the West India Docks, one of the busiest dock systems in the world during the 19th and early 20th centuries. After containerisation caused dock decline, the area was transformed from the late 1980s into a high-rise financial district. One Canada Square became a symbol of modern London, while the Jubilee line, DLR and Elizabeth line made the district highly connected. Today Canary Wharf mixes finance, apartments, shops, restaurants and waterside public spaces, creating a dense rental market for professionals.
