About Bridgend

Bridgend takes its name from the bridge over the River Ogmore around which the town grew, midway between Cardiff and Swansea in South Wales. Historically a market town, it expanded with the coal and industrial development of the surrounding valleys and later with major manufacturing. It sits close to the sandy beaches of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and Porthcawl. Good rail and motorway links along the M4 corridor make Bridgend a practical and affordable base, supporting a steady local rental market.
